The ID thing at clinics and hospitals is new. It is to prevent identity theft, that someone else should obtain medical care using your name (and leaving you and the hospital with the bills) IIRC, this is a new Federal Regulation.At the polling places, many forms of ID will do, however in ND there IS NO VOTER REGISTRATION, so you need to proff that you belong to that district. That said, I can now vote at any poll in the county. Nonetheless, proper ID requirements are coming to a gulag near you.
