Our linemen used to coil the 12kv drops from distribution fuses to transformers just the way Kawasaki has done with that pantograph bus lead between cars 801-802. The problem is that the first time a substantial fault current passes through that coil it will unwind, trying to magnetically get away from itself. That will make it long enough to touch the car roof and make the fault permanent.Very nice shots anyway, Bob. Bill |
