Once you add in all those votes in California going 55-45 (or more) for Obama, that's going to move the total popular vote by a point or two for Obama. |

True...but at this point, that's a footnote.I had just gotten home...who is winning the popular vote? As for how history sees this, I see this ending up very tight as tight can be possibly, at Obama 272, McCain 266...and it will be about how Obama won it (running away with Karl Rove's playbook---aren't these things top secret?), and not about how McCain lost it, but fought hard to the end, although the loss for McCain/Palin could be traced back to Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy filing and Merrill Lynch's shotgun wedding to Bank of America, which made the economy the top issue. And the ending will be bittersweet, as Obama cannot celebrate. Madelyn Dunham would have been proud. |

However, at 206, those are likely footnotes. California, Oregon, and Washington will seal the deal. The deal has been sealed and was sealed an hour ago. You'd have to be ignorant (or a TV anchor) to think otherwise. There will be no contesting of results in any national news-worthy way. |

The last few months have been HELL here, and I hope we can get back to normal here now.
