Incidentally, I looked up Angerville on Facebook. I would recommend that you do the same. Dante touched many other worlds than ours in a very positive way. |

Wow, all those sort of got me choked up...the Broadway Junction thing was such a fitting tribute.I unfortunately was unable to attend because I had someplace I had to be last night that couldn't be changed, and there was no way I could get back and forth to Brooklyn in between, but I REALLY wanted to be there. Anyway, the void would never be closed of course for anyone that knew him, however, it probably gives a little closure. This photo posted with the others sort of sets the tone. It reminds me of some of the photos that Dante used to take sometimes at night. I remember some years ago a whole album he posted of the J and M lines on some after dark trip he did. Unfortunately, a lot of his photos are offline because of website problems he was having over the years The darkness sort of sets a gloomy tone in this whole thing. Dante, I don't think I will ever pass through Broadway Junction without thinking of the "Broadway Junction", the "DTrain22", etc that brought so much joy to this board, and touched many of our lives, even if way too briefly: |

For me, the worst part about this is that I awlays considered myself and Dante as sort of being in the same subset: We were close to the same age (I think I'm a year older than he was), we both were in school for some type of technical profession and i'd like to think that we had a similar sense of humor (ok, you really can't see mine on here, but I found his antics funny). When RonInBayside put up that post about the death of a subchatter, I was expecting to see that one of the older members had passed away, not someone slightly younger than me! |

Death IS a part of life, but in the case of Dante, it was not the normal progression. When an older person dies, we feel bad, and we miss them, but it's the circle of life, and as sad as it may be, and it's never the right time when a person goes, even if older....but when it's a young person, it's a different feeling....it's way more tragic. The last SubTalker we lost (that we know of, as I am sure some of the people that all of a sudden "disappeared", may have died, who knows), but the last one we knew of was Steve Hoskins, and while it was also sad, he was an older guy (not terribly old I think his 60's or 70's, but certainly not 20 either). While the two are comparable, they really arent, as Steve got to live his life....Dante was taken from this Earth too early, but God in his ultimate wisdom of course had his own plans for Dante and wanted him early. |

God in his ultimate wisdom of course had his own plans for Dante and wanted him early.Personally, I don't believe that at all. If God is supremely loving, and supremely caring; as I believe and many religions teach, I don't think that he would take someone away to cause all that hurt and pain. |
