Thank you.The B46 on Malcolm X Blvd, and B26 on Halsey Street are the nearest bus routes. Stuyvesant is one way southbound so if you are coming from Fulton or Atlantic, you need to use Utica/Malcolm X Blvd first. I don't think there is a southbound bus route running on Stuvesant. |

Wish I could make it on down. :(Never met Dante, but sure LOVED him and interacted with him here, and "there" ... have you UR guys figured out who is going to speak for the collective "us" for his moms and in HIS honor yet? Did the picture of him "mugging the shot" for Bloomy and that apparent political douchebag on the other side of him? And some VIDEO of the NY TIMES footage and just MAYBE, NYTIMES showing up to give Dant PROPS on the NY TIMES front page as one of THEIR OWN? Anybody contact "city desk" at the TIMES so that THEY can show up and HONOR DANTE and his moms with some FRONT PAGE for Moms and everyone of *US* to honor him by? I'm SURE that if one of the UR people actually CONTACT the TIMES and tell them that their "TV star died" they JUST might send an honor guard to the event. :( Like I said, never MET Dante in person but SURE enjoyed his presence all these years, and FELT like I knew him from the NY TIMES TV show. I'd offer if I could GET there, but there are SO many other folks here who were closer to him than I'd ever be, and he DESERVES his PROPS and so does his MOM for the HELL she's been through. C'MON! SOMEBODY PLEASE stand up to the duty here ... I'm not worthy, so many OTHERS are and I *prayt* that NY TIMES shows up too. WELCOME TO PEACE, DANTE! You EARNED it! :) |

I *should* say, "Dante EARNED HIS HANDLES" with all the respect that means. From those of us who DESPISE "foamers" and never considered him to be "one of those" to those of us who loved him as a TRUE mensch, and those of us who actually had the GIFT of his time to hang out and LOVE a kibbitzer ... Dante was ALL of those things ... a true follower of all *I* believe in ..."NEVER take life too seriously, and BEWARE of those who do." If anyone's shy of words, feel free to use these. I *KNOW* he'd agree. |

Yup, In person (and I only met him a few times in person), I remember Dante to be relitively quiet, and he knew what to say just at the right time...And of course, his serious posts will be terribly missed....but I think what I am going to miss the most is the type of posts he would type when someone said something silly here..... He always had a simple: "OMGWTFBBQ!!" or something similar. Always a thing to put a smile on your face out in internetland.... |

Posted by SelkirkTMO on Mon Apr 9 10:02:43 2007, in response to Re: Services for For Dante Angerville, posted by Fred G on Mon Apr 9 09:54:35 2007. She definitely wanted to honor him ... if you check our her only opportunities to express herself here using his account (all she had) I *know* she was deeply moved by the friendships he made here and on subtalk and DID invite ONE 'speaker for all' to the service to speak on behalf of those of us here who HE considered friends. I *know* that's what she meant to honor HIM.Fortunately, there's no storm door on a casket and therefore no worries of any ugly incidents. Heh. But she was EXTREMELY moved at how many friends he had among us all and KNOWS that in his honor, it'd really be great if a contingent showed up and ONE spoke about all he means to all of us. Like I said - I'm not worthy - we never MET face to face. But I've seen MORE than enough photos, LOVED his person on that NY TIMES TV SHOW and just KNOW that "Mom" would love nothing more than a RESPECTING group of his friends from here to show their respects, and ONE to honor him at the podium ... folks might not realize how much *US SICKOS* meant to DANTE. :) |

Know precisely what you meant ... am 56 years old myself and have buried TOO many friends. Here's hoping the kids here can get it together - there's SO many folks who would want to do it - I'm *way* out of town myself but wanted to do my little bit because I could just SEE in any scene I ever saw him in what a loving and totally cool guy he was - he just EXUDED the *love* you instilled in him! It showed EVERY time! :)Despite the silliness, I have absolute faith that this group of knuckleheads here will choose and come through! |

Humm..Did my "share" of that,myself..and it's NEVER a "good" feeling..regardless of what "The Word" says. He says we should REJOICE in the FREEDOM..that we go to the place he prepared for us... But That doesn't make it hurt any less..knowing that you wont be able to "interact" with that person again "untill".. Guess it all boils down to how we handle things..how we mourn.. With my friend passing..I will do it in my own way,as I'm sure most of you will. Be easy... |

People wish their meetings were under better circumstances. But having the mutual support of friends is very important in the tough times too. After all, when there's sadness, that's when you need your friends the most. And you'll meet people who, I have no doubt, will show you and Dante's family their generous and unselfish side. |
