I found these photos of Dante from some past excursions:President's Day 2005 Philly SEPTA trip 12/06. Dante was one of a kind and was my favorite poster both here and at SubTalk. I miss him as we all do and will raise a glass to him this evening. I guess on the bright side, he's probably already taught 'OMGWTFBBQ' to August Belmont and given Robert Moses a well deserved tongue lashing :D. your pal, Fred |

I have been reading all the lovely and beautiful tributes posted here for Dante, and it has helped a little to know that he was held in such high regard by so many, some who never even got to meet him in person.I just think of his response to all this and know he would probably be a little embarrassed but very happy to know that so many people cared and admired him. After speaking with his grandmother and others, we decided to print out all the tributes that have been posted here and will have them at his service so everyone will be able to read them and see how much he meant to his friends... |

Posted the same thing over at TransitSpot:I am VERY shocked to hear this. My greatest memory of him was on October 29th, 2004 at 34th Street-Penn Station (IRT) station. While wating for the SMEE's to arrive he just roamed around the station just to kill time. Me of course thought he is just being himself. Dante being himself is what I truly liked in him. Just can't believe he's now gone from all of our lives. I'm sending out my deepest condolences to his family during this difficult time. To honor his memory, OMGWTFBBQ and Bikeyorph. At least he can claim he was featured along with Lincoln, Newkirk Plaza David, and amongst others during the Ultimate Ride in 2003.
