The toll cameras are still working and tolls are being collected. It is the first step in getting rid of it. DOT has to come up with a plan to stop it, probably pay someone to write a plan where you or I would just pull the plug (literally).Kathy can go to court and get an injunction and here in NY the federal courts will probably agree with her. But then again this is Kathy do nothing so the odds she will go to court are low. Then again DJT and Kathy are scheduled to meet this week, need to see what happens with that. |

If it could be guaranteed in stone that the toll money would be used for transit improvements, I wouldn’t mind it, but past history indicates that money earmarked for specific projects like the 2nd Ave Subway was never used for those purposes so good riddance. |

Does federal law actually allow the DOT to rescind approval of a state project once it has been granted? That's not at all clear. What if a state got federal approval for a project and then spent billions on it? Could the feds rescind approval?Understood NY didn't spend billions on this, but the law might not distinguish. |
