Daniel Penny |
|
Posted by Train Dude on Mon Dec 2 17:27:32 2024 Here are my thoughts. Daniel Penny rose to the status of super-hero when he stood up to defend his fellow passengers on the subway train where Jordan Neely was ranting and raving, That said, regardless of the verdict, Alvin Scum-Bragg has insured the safety of every other piece of shit, criminal riding among civilized society. Regardles of what the jury says or does, no person will, here-after, will put himself in harms way for his fellow passenger, knowing that he'll likely face a humiliating arrest, a costly trial and possible, politically motivated, guilty verdict. The trial of Daniel Penny sound's the death knell of the good samaritan in New York City. |

I find it hard to believe that people are going to risk being helpful to people in need when we all see what has happened to Daniel Penny through the actions of that putrid Manhattan DA. Either the jury acquits him or we get jury nullification or he gets pardoned by incoming President Trump. Just goes to show just how screwed up these dorks are in meting out justice. |

Jim, I lived in New York (Queens) my first 14 years and have been a California resident for the past 70. I have to look in the mirror to convince myself that I haven't become a crud like those people who run those two states. Amazing what political nuts man these two once important states because leadership in both has turned them into sad jokes. I even have to ask my wife and friends to convince me that I haven't gone over the edge myself. |

I was wrong for saying that Trump could pardon Penny; should have known better since I did teach US Government until I retired in 2002. Senior moment I guess, but I know that miserable governor Holchow or whatever the hell her name is certainly won't. Republicans and whatever is left of decent and fair minded Democrats must step in and prevent a miscarriage of justice on this case. |

The fact that this wasn't instantly and unanimously "not guilty" is really scary. It creates an environment where dangerous people are licensed to terrorize the general public with the knowledge that if someone steps in to protect themselves and others that person will be maliciously prosecuted and sued. |
