MLB vs Olympics
Posted by LuchAAA on Sat Jul 27 21:20:44 2024 Some strong match ups this weekend. Dodgers vs Astros Mets vs Braves Yankees vs Red Sox Yankees vs Red Sox is the national game on Fox tonight and FS1 tomorrow. I guess this is to give Fox a strong match up against the Olympics Prime Time.

BTW: In 1972 my wife and I were in Amsterdam, heading for Brussels and Munich when the animals killed the Israeli olympians. We flew home that day.

There were only two cities that bid, Paris and LA so guess where they are in four years. What about 8 years from now, who wants to host them now, the return on the huge investment is so poor it could bankrupt a country. There isn't even the bump in tourism like Atlanta got post Olympics anymore. I also have a deal on carboard beds if you want one.

No US team for NBC to obsess over. It could be that the Olympics are more interesting when they show minor sports.

Christians are such self-centered snowflakes! It’s not all about them. The Feast of the Gods or Banquet of the Gods as a subject in art showing a group of deities at table has a long history going back into antiquity. Showing Greco-Roman deities, it enjoyed a revival in popularity in the Italian Renaissance, and then in the Low Countries during the 16th century, when it was popular with Northern Mannerist painters, at least partly as an opportunity to show copious amounts of nudity.
