Re: The Eighth Blunder of the Modern World keeps getting bigger?

Gas station storage tanks are regularly checked for water content. They use a substance called "Detex". They apply it at the bottom of their measuring sticks, used to check the level of gasoline contained within their in ground storage tanks.
It is green when applied to the stick and when it hits water it turns purple since water is heavier than gasoline. In NYC, up to 4 inches of water is legally tolerated to be at the bottom of the tanks.
So, never get gas when the station is getting a delivery. Some of that water could be getting sloshed up and wind up in your tank.
Other than that, most gas stations have a form of filtering system to keep solids winding up in your tank.

I saw them at Old Time Pottery and the Walmart here sells them too.
(The serious answer to this is people must be using these instead of flashlights during storms....otherwise I have no idea why)

My Computer I run off of a wood burning generator.

I saw a sign like that on alligator alley. Wish I paid more attention to it. My motorcycle ran out of gas just before the first toll on 75.

Impressive, but year-to-date Tesla stock is -25% while the S&P 500 is +15%.

Rolling brownouts prevent you from fueling an ICE vehicle just the same, as those pumps are electric.

During a natural disaster, you can charge an EV as soon as electricity is restored, whereas ICE requires you wait for that AND a gasoline delivery.

On the other hand, Tesla has been wildly overvalued.

That doesn’t solve anything. Then the first car doesn’t have gas.

It’s like using an electric truck to charge another EV.
