You have to accidentally break it.It really has happened to a small portion of the tens of millions of mercury thermometers sold. Also, people toss them into the garbage, and the mercury leaches out of the land fill. |

"You have to accidentally break it."Yeah...makes sense "It really has happened to a small portion of the tens of millions of mercury thermometers sold." I'm sure it has. But my point was the miniscule amount of mercury released didn't make anyone sick as far as I know. There certainly more potential harm from the broken glass v/s the released mercury. In addition, I'm sure there was a more toxic potential from the mercury in dental fillings, which I have had several. "...and the mercury leaches out of the land fill." How much mercury are we talking about here? |

You are part of a truly mentally disfunctional religion. This planet h as been in an interglacial period for the past 11,700 years. That you think that human-kind will be able to stop the next ice age is pure fantasy. Climate is beyond man's control. |

We can probably also somewhat alter future naturally occurring climate cycles.Though if another Krakatoa explodes, there's probably nothing to be done in the very short time frame except try to organize emergency food aid really well for a change. |

I do support geo-engineering and adaptation as a solution to climate change, not just “cutting carbon emissions.” We’re not getting rid of all carbon emissions soon, and “biomass” is a sham. |
