A genuine vaccination card has the CDC and HHS logos on it, the person's name and date of birth, and information showing the vaccine type, location administered, and lot number. Authenticity can be verified by cross-referencing this information with the database maintained by the government for this purpose.People creating forgeries do not have access to this data, so things like lot numbers shown on fake vaccination cards won't match items like date and place given. |

The lack of a uniform, accessible vaccination database is one of many shortcomings. I'm sure some people will use the resulting problems as proof voter registrations are equally insecure.There is a "NYS Vaccination Passport". It can be downloaded and printed off the web. It contains a QR code. It and some form of ID are supposed to be required for proof of vaccination. Like most checks, the security of the ID is secondary to how well it is checked. If it's as rigorous as an age check for buying alcohol or tobacco products, Covid will continue to spread. |

Should I expect to see a boom on laminating sales? That doesn't sound like the type of thing I want to carry out to the bar and lose.Part of my reason for asking was what Bauman referred to. How vigilant are people going to be checking the database. Sounds like only if cops raid a place will it go that far. I was hoping for an app. I thought NYC had a digital everything going on a few years ago. I think there's a South American country using blockchain for this exact purpose. |

My son got a legit vaccination card, first shot by the NYPD at the police academy, second shot at CVS pharmacy, yet the state cannot find him in the system and cannot get him an Excelsior pass. We went back to CVS and everything in their records match his card. I also had a problem but that's because the girl at Aqueduct misspelled my name on the card. I got the excelsior pass with the misspelled name. |

I was able to get my DOB fixed on the Excelsior Pass, but I got the vaccine from the City of NY, not the state. But there was a form that I filled out and then they told me that my vaccine was by the city and told me to deal with the city. |
