Imagine a city in America where you can walk around many many districts, or go downtown, and like a college town you're not attacked randomly, and there was hardly a no-go zone. I don't care where you are, even the most hardcore liberal has an "ew, don't go there" neighborhood in huge swaths of a city. Now imagine, overnight, gangs of "youths" are playing the knockout game in front of theaters, or other well used pedestrian walk-ways, rioting on a random day, and maybe even throw in a flash mob at a drug store. Imagine your favorite safe block now a place you don't want to touch. That's how cities die. Life is too short tor a town to get bombed out and wait for gentrification to happen in 40 years. Most of the replies here seem to have never been to the Twin Cities. Outside of everyone being in a burka and workers thinking their own spit is better than cleansers, it used to be nice. |

Like Engels once said:The interference of the state power in social relations becomes superfluous in one sphere after another, and then ceases of itself. The government of persons is replaced by the administration of things and the direction of the processes of production. The state is not "abolished"; it withers away.Of course, Marxists do become very wild-eyed once they consolidate political power. |

I did look into JAG programs after Law School, but I was offered a job at a law firm that I had previously worked at and I did not have a definitive answer regarding vision. Even though with glasses my vision is close to 20/20 in one eye it is not exactly 20/20 and I had seen conflicting reports about whether that would have made me ineligible or whether just the fact that it corrected to better than 20/40 was sufficient. |
