Over what time frame, and what kind of threat?Pandemic is the biggest short term economic threat. Right wing extremists are the biggest threat to our entire system of government in the long term. We could become another Brazil if they succeed. Left wing extremists are incompetent - what do you actually fear from them? Terrorism from abroad is so unpredictable. If they don't succeed in detonating an A-Bomb in US territory, they are a very small threat. But if they do, they are huge. Fortunately our government realizes its highest military priority is to prevent that from happening. A big war would be on the top of the list if it happened, but I don't expect it. Even North Korea's leader is saner than Trump. |

Ebola is still rampant in the Congo and we are just a few open border activists in the courts from allowing it to gain a foothold here. I also raised concerns of a plague outbreak on the west coast. In contrast, 40% of the country thinks that the most disgusting human being ever to be President of the United States is doing a great job. That 40% would let us become Brazil without even blinking. I skimmed that document that Al posted - The Pandemic Playbook - and according to that while Ebola is really deadly it's not that easy to transmit. They had coronavirus listed in the same tier. I did too because obesity and type-2 diabetes are related to the issue and national security.And I'll guess part of your issue with for profit health care is the fact you're a gay activist. You are part of a community with a very high rate of infection and disease and mental illness and therefore need lots of hospitalization and medication at a very young age. There are clinics that specialize in treating AIDS related illness and dispensing the meds to those infected. Gays as a whole need far more medical attention and medication than straights. |
