Maybe it has something to do with Republicans gutting preferential hiring plans for minorities or fighting racial preferences in college admissions*, Republicans supporting actual law enforcement, etc. The fact is both parties don’t give a damn about Blacks or pretty much anyone but the mega donors.*I am skeptical how much the use of race in college admissions actually helps minority students. There is a certain level of assumed knowledge that all College level courses require. Many minorities are simply unprepared with those foundations and it gets exacerbated when they go to a school beyond their capabilities. This leads to minorities falling behind and getting tracked into less academically rigorous majors and courses so that they may have a shot at graduating. For those that can overcome this it really is a ticket to a better life, but I am not convinced that those overcoming are the rule rather than the exception. |
