The governments frown upon racism, but the regular citizenry are racist as fuck.Doubt that about African countries. Third world countries tend to be significantly more racist than first world. I’ll accept some other country as being less racist than the US, but I guarantee you it’s a first world country. Although there are first world racist countries (coughjapancough). |

In my experience places with essentially one race have less racism than places where different races interact. Not always, but often.Also, the US is one of the very few countries that not only tolerated racism, but had institutionalized, government mandated racism until very recently. We had to have court intervention to correct that. Yet even countries that don't have laws prohibiting racism, don't develop the systemic racism that we had/have. |

Japan actually will allow non-Japanese to become citizens. It's extremely rare.They are culturalist rather than racist. Race is an indicator that someone is from another culture, but if they "behave" Japanese (speak the language, follow the mannerisms, etc) the fear disappears. A black person in a suit and tie with briefcase sitting quietly will get more respect than a Chinese person wearing a hoodie and torn jeans. |
