Here's the thing about this, though: Trump has been publicly pushing the "go back to your country" trope as loudly as he can. When the leadership makes rabid statements like that, it should come as no surprise that some people see them as validating their own bigotry. This encourages them to behave just like the store clerk in the video. The company fired him because there was video, not because they necessarily agree or disagree with his behavior. |
