The truth here is that you don’t really know whether the towns people agreed or disagreed. The other point is that crying “common decency“ is bullshit, especially if one feels they want to protest the government. Pinocchio is the government in this case and a private business owner told government to get lost. |

Listen, I agree that a business owner could refuse anyone who they want to, be it a black person, being a gay couple, being a republican, being a Democrat, being the wrong religion. I believe that people have the right to serve or refuse anybody who they want! The same goes for renting. But, decisions like that come with consequences. |

The Irish-Catholic governor of Virginia was chosen because it was thought Virginia could be purple and now it's looking blue. I believe the Irish-Catholic governor has ties to that part of Virginia or his wife, so that could shift things only for the most recent election. I know a woman in Harrisonburg and one in Norfolk. |

My aunt was an elementary school teacher through the early 1980s, IIRC, and her husband, my late uncle, was from Danbury as well. It was a mile north of the A&P Shopping center Going towards New Fairfield.I don’t recall a department store on White Street and it might’ve been before my time. I remember a store called Rocano’s where we used to get our Catholic school uniforms and supplies. There was a men’s clothing store called Feinson’s on the corner of Main Street and White Street. |
