I have 4 cars between my wife and myself, I own my own house in New York City, I have money in the bank, several life insurance policies, and other amenities that I've worked for. I'm not living in some dinky apartment somewhere. And I'm not even going to touch the responsibilities I had when I was working. |

Well our party is carrying this baggage and it shouldn't. The Republican Party was founded as a conservative anti-slavery party and to me conservative and pro civil rights should not be mutually exclusive. We ARE the party of Lincoln and should do all we can to return to the roots of what became the party of national union, freedom and civil rights. It was the Democrat Party that was the party of just the opposite, retrograde with the likes of Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson. As a conservative party we would still hold onto the South and much of the Midwest, but there is no reason we can't get behind firmly behind civil rights and become champions of minorities instead of being labeled retrograde ourselves by these same groups who we should be trying to win over.....as we once did. |
