No, the authorities are saying "There is no evidence that it is terrorism." They know that because they haven't found any such evidence. Also, there is actually evidence it is not terrorism. The plane was at cruise altitude, then it started a steady descent of about 3000 feet per minute (about a 6 degree downslope). You can't make that happen with a bomb. Of course, a hijacker could conceivably have forced a pilot to do that, but it seems unlikely. Besides, how did the hijacker get through the locked door without the pilot sending an alert? Pilot suicide is still possible, if you want to call that terrorism. |

You don't think you are on level flight at 38,000 feet if the air is clear and you see the Alps ahead of you instead of below you.I'm betting on hypoxia. It seems the least unlikely explanation at the moment. |

There may be witness to crash, the French Air Force dispatched a jet because of loss of communication , it did get to the Airbus before it hit mountain. |

They were saying "it is not terrorism."I'm also thinking of EgyptAir Flight 990, where the pilot turned off the autopilot and intoned "Allahu Akbar" on the way down. They ruled out terrorism there too. |

Why doesn't CNN understand French? |

We are now 30+ hours after the event with no (credible) claim of terrorism. That alone makes terrorism unlikely. In order to incite "terror", there must be the fear that the people behind the act can and will do it again.I wouldn't call Pilot Suicide terrorism for that reason. I also think that within 24 hours they should be able to review the passenger log to determine whether anyone "suspicious" might have been on board. Still, I tend to disagree with the "terrorism has been ruled out" phrasing until they know more. Unlikely at this point, for sure -- but not yet ruled out. |

Latest news is that one of the pilots left the cockpit and was unable to return before the plane went down. “The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door and there is no answer,” an unnamed investigator told the New York Times. “And then he hits the door stronger and no answer. There is never an answer.”“You can hear he is trying to smash the door down,” the investigator added. |
