Ferguson was never about fairness. Ferguson was about an outlet for rage. Lets face it, under the "great uniter" things have not gone all that well for certain groups. Unemployment for Blacks is twice the national average. For black teens its double again. The middle class is shrinking. Minority (especially black) children are being executed at a horrific rate - especially in the bastions of liberal democrat society. The flame under the pot is that they can't blame the "first black president" for the failures so the pot keeps boiling.Along comes Michael Brown - street tough/choir boy. Leaving a convenience store after a strong arm robbery/heading to see his grandmother. He's confronted by a police officer who wants to know why Mr. Brown is walking in the street obstructing traffic/a racist cop out to kill a black teenager. Michael Brown grabs for the officer's gun/Michael Brown puts his hands up and peacefully surrenders. Michael Brown is shot in the struggle/is summarily executed by Officer Wilson. Perfect - white cop shoots unarmed black teen. There is your safety valve opening up. All the rage for the unemployment, growing poverty, all of it comes rushing out. Trained hucksters like Sharpton come rushing in. Media, their Viagra of choice, stokes the flames and the money starts rolling in to the "action networks". Add a log or two from a president who is supposed to be neutral and another by the attorney general who all but vows that officer Wilson shall be sacrificed for the greater good. Courageous citizens of Ferguson who came forward (including 6 blacks) who corroborate Wilsoin's version of the events are discounted. The grand jury that dealt with FACTS is racist after all, The prosecutor screwed the pooch. The grand jury proceeding was a sham. The (pussy) governor decides not to send in the national guard who have been ready in preparation for this event. Let the businesses burn, the cars burn, the community burn as once again, the outside agitators taunt the citizens of Ferguson to burn down their own community in protest over Michael Brown's death - while dozens of others are buried each day with only the whimpering's of their mothers to mark their passing. Don't forget to buy your Michael Brown Tee from the local huckster. Show your support. |

This clause is only for Federal cases, not state cases like Ferguson. The grand jury clause of the Fifth Amendment has not been incorporated against the U.S. states. Only 22 states require grand juries. |

I think it's credible but makes him look totally unprofessional like a scared little kid.The first shot when he was in the car makes sense. I can see he had no good choice but to shoot because he was so hemmed in. But once Brown was some distance from him he should have been using his mace instead. I feel like I was more composed last summer having a can of pepper spray in my hand and walking past a 600 pound grizzly bear 50 yards away than professional policeman Wilson was with an unarmed criminal charging at him. I can see letting him off a charge of criminally negligent homicide but based on his own words he should never be a cop again. |
