How is raising a terror threat level showing leadership? It does nothing to actually defeat ISIS. Like Dubya's counterterrorism "plans" it's the equivalent of playing not to lose. That is in stark contrast to Obama ordering air strikes to directly attack ISIS.All the leadership is on this side of the pond. |

Well, because if he did order further strikes or other missions then Congress would complain that theyre being ignored like they did during Syria. So with that is David Cameron is showing true leadership by raising the terror level and saying ISIS maybe a threat for years to come? So, do you go to Congress and ask for War Powers? Will congress authorize it with the real potential is may be a prolonged conflict? These are real questions that we need answers too and Congress hasnt shown a willingness to authorize it. |

In my humble opinion, the president should suspend his social activities and call both the senate and house into emergency session and ask for just such powers. If congress doesn't authorize it then its on them if and when the president acts unilaterally but my bet is that he gets bi-partisan support. |

It by no means entertains the idea that thee will not be one, just that one is not ready yet. Good to see SOMEONE is actually putting some THOUGHT into this for a change. It's wiser to wait a week and go forward with a strategy that will work rather than going and invading a country based on fairytales and bullshit economic delusions and....oh wait....didn't we do that not so l ago? If so, why hasn't there been a jobs bill?Immigration reform? Equal pay? There's a list of unpassed legislation that would make Luch envious. As expected, would have been better if it had more jobs focused programs instead of tax cuts. We didn't double-dip. Reagan, Bush and bush DID.If immigration is such an urgent issue, why haven't they passed anything? The Senate did, the President said he'd sign that bill. That bill is a good compromise. |
