Well maybe not selling, but someone posted the requirements of getting the grain stuff out (burning, not throwing it in your own trash, selling, and so forth). But isn't that "part" of the religious ceremony/tradition?

It's Mitch45 we're talking about. But in any event, even if the sale isn't legitimate as per the process described by state law, if he gives over the keys to the van and says go do whatever you want with it, it may be good enough for the purposes of the religious practice/tenet of not owning chometz on Passover.

Coloring eggs for kids to be delivered by the "Easter Bunny" have absolutely nothing to do with Christian Easter.

From Wikipedia so you know it's true:

- The hare was believed to be a hermaphrodite who could reproduce without loss of virginity, and came to represent the Virgin Mary.

- Orthodox Churches customarily abstain from eggs for Lent. They boil or roast them prior to Lent to preserve them, then eat them to break the fast.

- Eastern Orthodox and possibly Lutherans began dyeing eggs red to symbolize the blood of Christ.

fiogf49gjkf0d
OK, I realize I am quibbling for the sake of amusement value here. But in point of fact the buyer of the van could not reasonably refuse to sell it back (which is a stated requirement of a genuine sale), because civil law would not allow him to make use of the van if he didn't sell it back. He wouldn't have title, so he wouldn't be able to get plates or insure it.

If the sale isn't legitimate and he still owned the chametz, then it was taken care of when he recited bittul chametz. But I still say burn the van just to be safe.

Again, there's no stipulation anywhere that any of that has to be done, should be done, needs to be done, or even should be done.
And all the ones you mentioned are different Orthodox sects.
There's no abstaining from eggs, no symbolization of eggs for anything, and so forth for "Christianity". What some sect may or may not do or have done really doesn't correlate at all to the grain thing.
It's about as relevant as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is to "religion".
