I did call say they were like the hypocritical left though in their actions.

You said they were an example of the "hypocritical left."

But fine. We'll pretend you never said anything of the sort. They aren't liberal and you never said they were.

Now explain exactly what makes the left "hypocrites," since you are back to having precisely zero examples of any liberals protesting the development of low income housing.

SMAZZA posted a story about toxic sites in nearby Ridgewood. Sites so toxic they qualify for federal dollars.

This site has never been mentioned as a danger. There's a JHS a few hundred feet away.

If this site was being developed for pricey condos there would be minimal opposition. THIW.

fiogf49gjkf0d
I say this only because more than 3 articles do point to the project's opposition, as well as clarifying the reasons for same.

Luch of course, characterized it all wrong. First, it would only be a minority RW type to harp about property values. Liberals know such does not affect them. Only RWers fear projects of this type. Second, there are legitimate concerns about pollution at the Cooper site. That in and of itself should unify the community and taxpayers against it. What is the cost of cleanup and who pays? These are important unanswered questions.

Te fact that other locations closer to the subway are available make this one a no brainer IMO. Move it and build it. It'll be good for all involvd.

fiogf49gjkf0d
Wrong. There are compelling reasons to oppose this location. There is little dispute about building a shelter in the area, the need is acknowledged. If that was opposed you'd have some firmish ground on which to stand.

The issue is the site is polluted. There are alternative sites which also would serve the needs of a shelter population much better than the Cooper site. Te cost of cleanup may be prohibitive. Who pays?

Do you think that just because someone is poor they should have to live in a toxic site?

The point is, Clinton was clearly right of center, and the fact that you believe he wasn't proves you're so far to the right that everything even remotely near the center starts to blur together for you.
