That's only the reason for the "decline" of the housewife: domestic automation. Unless one has a lot of children, or a newborn, one doesn't need a housewife anymore. |

I'm sure one of our minority forum members will tell us all that they too separate whites and colors when doing laundry. Separating reds is most important, and I bet the entire reason for this thread to begin with, i.e.someone has pink skivvies. Mitch is right here, Not racist! |

What you have there is a bad marriage, not a woman failing to do her duty. She should want to do the laundry if her husband is doing a lot of overtime. Expecting her to do it is the problem. |

Olog: Is it a good or bad "progression"? or is it possibly a regression?Me: That's a difficult question, because there are so many issues and so many actors. But to take it at its most basic as it relates to gay people who wish to be part of the same society as everyone else; who simply want themselves and the person they've committed themselves to be viewed in the same social context as my wife and I enjoy; to be invited to a party or be introduced as Robert Jones and His Husband, not Robert Jones and His Friend, I find it very progressive* indeed. Small p; I haven't been turned. |

What's the big deal about doing laundry? That's what I say to a housewife who won't do the laundry. There's no reason for a housewife to make her husband do his own laundry. Especially when he works 10-20 hrs OT a week. Even if she's working part-time, or less hours than the husband, I think it makes no sense to marry someone who fusses and keeps score of the chores. Better off just dating. |
