Can't you see that POLITICS IS ITS OWN FORM OF RELIGION?Take a GOOD look at how the political system is structured..THEN take a look at how the "CHURCH" is structured from it core out..you wiil see the damn near identical "systematic functionality" between the two. How do you keep politics and "religion" apart..when you know like I do that they are intertwined..? People often look for their representatives to line up with their core beliefs..core principles..core values. If not ALL of them..SOME OF THEM.. When looking at it from THAT PROSPECTIVE..Most Americans are GOD FEARING,and look to other to be the same way..this is why the Right can draw them in via the TEA PARTY Extremist and other various groups. I don't knock that..If a man or woman is rooted in GOD,then his foundation is strong. He can build a strong house on it, that wont fail. But,does THAT have a place in the political circle..arena..? can a person "govern" without being radical..religious..? Can a person do his job with the baggage? |

In 1980, when Reagan won his landslide victory, Tip O'Neill sat down with him and compromised. He gave him many of his tax cuts. Can you imagine the leader of Congress actually compromising with the President of the other party now or in the future?I still think Bush V Gore was a pivotal moment in the political history of our country and that it will reverberate for decades, if not longer. |

It's something I've argued for a while now, that liberals win because they never give up, while conservatives move on from defeat. No matter how many Roman legions Hannibal annihilated, the Romans simply dug in and created new ones. Eventually, they won. There's just no way I can fight a political battle on those terms. |
