Part of the fuel for these Neo-Nazis is that Turkey is being considered for EU membership. In the 1960's many Turks were allowed to come to the (then) West Germany, to work in the VW and other industries. They were never fully assimilated and the Germans now fear that their country will be flooded with Muslim Turks, if EU membership is granted. By the way, you can always tell a German house from a Turkish one. The Germans have cable TV and the Turks use satelite dishes. |
