Yeah, that's one mistake LI's make, we assume that when we say "North Shore" or "South Shore", that everyone knows that we mean the communities along the north or south shores, not necessarily directly "the shore" itself.Long Island is only about 23 miles wide at it's widest point (most of it is less), so for us, it's easy to say "north shore" and "south Shore", as that's how we describe the north and south sides of the island, with of course it's spine in the middle. |
