Suge Knight is more than "one figure". He's a prominent figure. I don't think that Fitty(who by the way, was shot of course, and other rappers mock that incident, like Judakiss) lives the life, but he could care less if young blacks are influenced by his "feuds".And you just hit the nail on the head. If you want to be in the world of hip-hop, you pretty much have to have a feud(as you point out, Fitty does it to boost sales and perpetuate the black stereotype), for cred. And these feuds usually involve violent lyrics directed at an enemy, with the real threat of a shooting always being possible at any moment. |
