Never had any problems with people purposely vandalizing my car, but when I lived in Queens my car was broken into a few times, and even stolen once, but that was way back in the late 80's early 90's.The other day I was in Brooklyn and I had terrible time trying to find a spot because of all the snow mounds. I finally find a spot after about 15 minutes of searching and was so happy. I get out of my car, and begin walking away and all of a sudden, I hear a couple fighting in a 3rd floor apartment and all of sudden stuff is flying out of the window from the 3rd flood. Clothes, and all kinds of stuff. All of a sudden solid stuff is flying out the window, and of course, there's my car parked in front of this building. I said, "Oh for Christ's sake"....and thought there's no way in hell I am leaving my car in front of this building with this crazy couple screaming and fighting at eachother and throwing stuff out the window, so got back in, and abandoned the spot....took another 10 minutes to find another spot, and this time it was a spot that was caked in over a foot of snow, but I have a 4 wheel drive SUV, so figured I would attempt it and got in. If I had a regular car, I never would have gotten into it. But at least FINALLY i was parked after over a 1/2 hour. The snow is terrible there right now. |
