Eh, I went through one at O'hare a few weeks back. I just got in the shortest line and was slow to realize the line was so short because I'd gotten in the full body scanner lane. Once I'd gotten my shoes off I was kinda committed and didn't feel like getting the TSA patdown if I'd fled the line.

I really don't see what the big deal is. If someone is that desperate to see naked bodies, especially with the internet, then I'm more depressed by that person than I am enraged that they'd use mine or a significant other's images for their enjoyment.

IMHO the biggest problem with the full body scanners is how slow they are. They take at least five times longer than the old metal detectors to complete a scan. They're going to need dozens of the machines to replace current screening checkpoints with 6 to 10 metal detectors.

Just about the only other issue I had with it was the woman passing through the machine in front of me. I do not know what country she was traveling to, but she was rather large and did not consider bathing much of a priority. I swear I saw the TSA employee guiding people through the scanner turn his head slightly in disgust when she raised her hands above her head.
