There is no "Hispanic race". Hispanic is regardless of race. You can be black, white, or Amerind, and be Hispanic.

I know that Hispanic is not a race, but I couldn't come up with a better term to refer to them as at the moment.

IMO calling someone that looks Mexican "Mexican" is no more racist than how many Europeans will call people that look and sound like white Americans "Americans". Canadians don't like it, but it's not racist.

There's more stigma and racism involved in Americans calling Hispanics "Mexicans" than there is in Europeans calling Canadians "Americans".
