I was just talking to my son today about when we might compete for a WC championship and I said that barring something changing rapidly that it would be a while. Our absolute best player of all time - Landon Donovan - probably wouldn't rank in the top 30 players in this years WC. We lost to Ghana who was missing their best player by far - Michael Essien. He would probably be in the top 10. Ghana has a much more realistic chance to win in 2014 than us and they have no chance at all. |
