Its cool when the Williams sisters or an Andy Roddick win but they are pretty much representing themselves and not their country. The soccer equivalent is an American player doing well with his club in England (or elsewhere) or in European club play (like Clint Dempsey did last season with Fulham for example).It's good to see an American doing well but it's not for the National Team. on that note, Americans Jose Torres and Hercules Gomez will be playing for Pachuca in the Club World Cup in December. |
