Maybe we should play for the tie and then beat Algeria?We should play for a win and be satisfied with a tie. England will beat Algeria in their second game. If we tie Slovenia, the standings will be 1. Eng - 4 points 2. SLO - 4 points 3. USA - 2 points 4. ALG - 0 going into the last match. Us beating Algeria and ENG and SLOV tying would leave everybody at 5 points and then it would come down to goal differential. I'd rather we go into the Algeria game needing just a tie instead of a must-win situation and looking at the scoreboard to see how the other game is going. Fortunately, Slovenia only beat Algeria 1-0 so not much of a goal differential to make up if it comes to that. |
