But I don't go around saying that sports that I don't like or never followed (like cricket or hurling) lack strategy just because I don't understand them. Yes but none of us were tall enough to just walk up to the basket and dunk the ball in. Real skill was required. IMO Player's height is as much or more of a contributing factor than skill in the way the professional game is played. Height only increses the probabilty to succeed at the highest levels. In the college ranks and even HS, extremely tall guys are a dime a dozen. Only the very skilled ones progress to a higher level. |
