From the POV of the guy with the flashlight (because I refuse to talk about people standing on a hole), the flashlight would work as it normally does. From the POV of anyone standing beyond the event horizon of the black hole, the guy, the flashlight and the beam of light would be unseen. It is, as they say, all relative. |
