Over the last few months, Newsday is having a field day with the printing the pictures of 20-something white heroin junkies who go breaking into houses to support their habits.You generally can't go more than two or three days without one of these stories. While the rise in such crimes due to a possible rise in heroin use is a story, it's hard to believe that each individual instance of property crimes is a news story -- or that these are the only break-ins occurring on LI. |
