Well, both Nassau and Suffolk are still more suburban, that "city". Even Nassau, while quite dense, is still particularly "urban" in most parts. Suffolk is less dense than Nassau, but has some dense areas like Nassau, the only difference being the properties are a little bigger. People are more on top of eachother in Nassau than in Suffolk, but not nearly as on top of eachother as Queens or Brooklyn.
Suffolk also has lots of rural areas yet, and less dense suburban areas. "Suburbia" probably ends around the Route 112 corridor, but it has probably began encroaching towards the William Floyd Corridor. East of William Floyd Parkway, Suffolk is quite rural yet.
