I've been to other counties in NY and they all had cities.Glen Cove and Long Beach in Nassau County are the only cities* on Long Island. Everything else is either an unincorporated area or a village. Since the founding of the city of Rye in 1942, there has not been a new city formed in New York State. *That's in a cultural sense. In a geographic sense including Kings and Queens County, then obviously one should add New York City. |
