Alexander's was one of the anchors of the Kings Plaza Mall.Whoever the buyer was for Korvette's record department in the mid-1970s must have been a big WNEW-FM fan. They stocked nearly everything I heard on that great album-oriented radio station, even obscure UK imports by groups like Pilot, Pretty Things, The Move, Wizzard, ELO (before they got big) and Nektar. Out of character with the rest of Korvettes which sold just plain stuff. You could buy 10W-40 motor oil then go upsatirs and pick up the latest offbeat UK import LP. |
