Posted by FYBklyn1959 on Sun Jul 20 14:52:30 2008, in response to OT pics from my 6/13-15 trip to NY and DE (56K forget it), posted by FYBklyn1959 on Sun Jul 13 15:48:59 2008. Some more pics from the 2 jetBlue flights:Trip report from jetphotos.net forum As the trip report stated, my FLL to JFK flight was on a brand new (in service less than 2 months) JetBlue A-320 (N708JB, named "All that an a bag of blue chips") Despite the newness of the plane, most of the IFE (In-flight Entertainment) screens weren't working, so for 2+ hours of the flight, I got to stare at this: At least across the aisle, my mom's IFE was working: An interior shot: The return flight was on one of the older B6 A-320s (N519JB "It had to be blue") Since we got to the airport early, I was able to get a pic of the plane as it arrived at the gate: (We were at gate 22 in that temporary satellite terminal (which I guess is a stop-gap until Terminal 5 is completed (later this year?)) Pain in the ass to get to (have to go down a ramp and out into the elements (it was raining slightly at the time), into a shuttle bus (dunno what type), over to the satellite building, then back up a ramp. It didn't have the nice big windows that regular terminals have, so my hopes of photographing passing planes while we waited were dashed, and the pic I did take was through that glass with the reinforcement. I didn't even know about that terminal, since our inbound flight docked at the the main terminal.) Gate 22 from the plane after we pushed back. We actually pushed back 2 minutes hot, and proceeded to sit in that spot for over 1/2 hour. NEVER, EVER take a flight out of JFK on a Sunday in the summer with a departure time between 1800 and 2000!! Our progress (or lack thereof) taxiing. 90 minutes from pushback to wheels up. Finally underway! Sunset at 39,000 feet (or so) I made use of the DirecTV programming available, and for a time watched the US Open: (And yes, the 2nd pic is that putt! :) (Too bad I didn't get a pic of his reaction, which they replayed 10 million times!)) :) Also, got a few plane pics from the ground: American 767 (I think) on final to JFK, taken from the Queens Village LIRR station on Saturday (while waiting for the train to Penn to get the Acela to Delaware) Delta MD-88, just taking off from LGA from a westbound LIRR train just past Woodside A wingleted American 757, just taking off from Newark Liberty |
