That is a very interesting point.Our size is part of that. The US and Russia have something in common: lots of xenophobic peasants who live in the interior of the country, don't particularly like the coasts (corrupting influences, you know), don't know the UN from Disneyland and couldn't care less. Whatever their pastor doesn't teach them in Sunday School can't be important... |
