I had a friend in high school who was first generation Indian-American. He spoke with the same Mississippi accent as everyone else in school, but he could immitate his dad's Punjabi accent pretty well. He used to pretend he was fresh off the boat whenever he wanted to mess with the clerks at McDonald's!Of course, if the Mickey D's clerk were a bit more on the ball,* they would've wondered why a fresh-off-the-boat Indian was eating hamburgers :) * = I know, don't say it, if they were a bit more on the ball they wouldn't be working there in the first place.
