It's true, they usually revert back to their native language when they get old. The little German I know is from my grandmother that sploke "Germanish" in her later years (even though she used to speak perfect English years earlier).As for my other Grandmother, I learned to understand and speak Dutch because she and my mother and Aunts and Uncles usually spoke Dutch among themselves, with English thrown in between. She too spoke English pretty good, but as she got older spkoke more and more "half and half". |
