Can you cite any specific regulation(s) that would have to go away to make freight railroads actively pursue reviving passenger service ? IIRC, when Amtrak was created, I don't recall any freight railroads (with the exception of the Southern) bemoan the loss of passenger trains while demanding that those regulations be rolled back. Did they complain to Uncle Sam how removal of their passenger trains would hurt their bottom line?I don't think so. |
