All is well, Cactus, and thanks. I was escorted into and out of Flight Ops that morning with government issued ID, but yeah, lesson learned. Instead of leaving the lanyard on the kitchen counter as I always had I simply draped it over the doorknob of my only exit door so that I could not miss it; of course, I still had to remember to actually drape it over the doorknob.Early in my USAF career I devised a mnemonic for mission planning. With respect to the "mental/pat down" QRC... after purchasing a home when I was assigned to New York by United Airlines, I devised another one that, although not having anything to do with work per se, helped me remember to leave the house in the proper condition. I am proud of that accomplishment, arguably the highlight of my career and, quite possibly, my life: L = Lights (Turn Off) E = Electrical (Check Appliances in Appropriate State) A = Air Conditioning/Heating (Set Thermostat) V = Ventilation (Close and Lock Windows) E = Entrance/Exit (Lock Doors) You should feel free to use the mnemonic LEAVE if you are so inclined but if it does not work for you I cannot and I will not be held responsible.
