Their leaders are all EU stooges now.

Former deputy prime minister Micheál Martin actually said a few years ago (he might have been prime minister at the time:
"Let me be perfectly clear on where Ireland stands: We want nothing to do with a backward-looking notion of sovereignty. We are fully committed to the principles of the European Union."
