This is the problem, we’re not comparing him with Hitler because of the Holocaust, which isn’t the only thing Hitler did that was bad.

If Hitler did everything that he did the same way, but didn’t do any part of the Holocaust (that is, the Germans killed only political prisoners and people in battle), he would still be in the running for history’s greatest monster, but then people like Stalin and Genghis Khan might beat him. But “at least he’s not Genghis Khan” isn’t a consolation.
