She needs the free media coverage to try and put distance between her and Biden to try and get marginal Trump voters to stay home on Election Day. By marginal Trump voters I am talking about those who feel like if they have to vote then ever so slightly it will be for Trump, but they can be subjectively convinced (however wrong it is objectively) that they won’t see a difference if either are elected so don’t go out of your way to vote if it is difficult on Election Day due to other commitments. |
